There is this place near my home which was formerly a garden of some Landlord named Kayal. But it got the title of bird sanctuary 8-9 years ago. The place is the famous Chintamoni Kar Bird Sanctuary and it harbors some truly amazing species of flora and fauna which includes the recent find, A Violet Cuckoo.
I am into bird photography for nearly 4 years now. But this place always rekindles a new expectation in me, a new hope that I might find something new every time I visit. I have been to this place for 4-5 times now and that 17 acres of land is some place. Densely Packed with trees and shrubs and dried leaves, CKBS offers you the thrill you can never find elsewhere. Its like walking in the wild but being sure that there’s no carnivores around except some Jungle Cats and Jackals. And you know what, you can never get enough of CKBS. period.
But due to a lot of real estate growth in the region, human encroachment is gradually leading to a lot of noise and pollution. Once a commoner, the Oriental White Eye is now a rarity in the premises.
Well, there’s many more. But you have to visit the place to experience, a mere blog can’t give you the excitement.
